Wesley Sneijder's Man United transfer 'depends on wife Yolanthe's TV career'The Red Devils are keen to lure the Inter Milan playmaker to Old Trafford as a replacement for Paul Scholes, but there are a number of factors complicating the deal. One is the Dutch World Cup star's salary demands, which are believed to be in the region of £250,000 a week, but another is his family life. Yolanthe has a career as a TV presenter in the Netherlands and is known to be keen to break into the lucrative English-speaking market.

The Sneijders have now appointed Creative Artists Agency to negotiate commercial deals in the US and UK, the Mail on Sunday reports. A move to United for the 27-year-old midfielder would help the agency find advertising contracts for the couple and raise his wife's profile, improving her chances of securing English-language television jobs.

If that does happen, it would please Netherlands coach Bert van Marwijk, who believes Sneijder would improve as a player at Old Trafford. 'Manchester United have a unique playing style and they perform consistently at the highest level,' Van Marwijk told the Sunday Mirror. 'Their methods in training, and the way people work at this club with players are superb. 'This is why it will be a new challenge to Wesley. It will inspire him and it will give him new energy.'
