The £30m former Spurs striker sparkled in flashes last season but, according to Robson, will shine even brighter this time around.
With Ronaldo and Tevez no longer wearing the red, so much more responsibility will be placed on the shoulders of the Bulgarian.
Former skipper Robbo is convinced Berbatov will step up to the plate, and says: “It's time for him to step forward and show what he can really do.
"Berbatov is quality and this season we'll see him come into his own. With Ronaldo and Tevez gone, United will be looking for others to lead the way. And I'm sure he can become the main man."
Berbatov agrees that there’s more to come from him and says: “I think I can do better. I can do more.
"It's always beneficial to have a good pre-season and I feel I'm training well at the moment. I'm here to score goals and I hope to score more and more for United this season."
